This page explains what data FreeQR Codes collects, how we use it, and who else might see it. Plain language, no surprises.
What we collect
- Account details. An email address, used for sign-in and account recovery.
- Usage data. When someone scans a tracked QR code, we record the timestamp, a coarse device/browser identifier, and approximate location (country / region). We hash IP addresses; we do not store raw IPs alongside scans.
- QR designs you save. The configuration of saved QR codes (colors, shapes, destination URL) is stored against your account.
How we use it
- To provide the service — render previews, deliver scan redirects, show analytics on your dashboard.
- To improve the product — aggregated, non-identifying usage metrics help us prioritize features.
- To contact you when needed — service notices, account issues, or replies to your support requests.
Third parties
- Supabase — handles authentication and stores your account record + saved QR data.
- Stripe (future). Once paid plans launch, Stripe processes the payment and stores the billing record; we never receive your card number.
- Vercel — hosts the application; standard request logs are kept for operational purposes.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal data. We do not embed third-party ad trackers in the generator or the redirect path.
